Various Artists
Upcycled Garden installation, Richmond Art Center, Richmond, CA, January 2025
Upcycled Garden will be a site-specific installation designed for the Hunter’s East Art Lounge. The pieces are made from discarded and found carboard, and is an ever-growing installation, often using local materials. Seifert started making this work during the Covid epidemic and the evolving pieces explore the detritus of life, our overconsumption and impact on the environment.
Visitors will be able to create their own upcycled piece to take home or add to at the museum.
Seifert, along with artist Annie Owen, is a co-founder of the extremely popular magazine, Hi-Fructose, focused on international contemporary art.
