Bands on the Bluff

Big Easy on the Bluff

We kick off this annual series tonight with a performance from MaryLovesJazz. Singer Mary Edwards and musicians Dexter Bell, Marcus Dotson and Yattie Westfield will perform a sultry mix of traditional jazz, neo-soul, R&B and funk.  We’ll also showcase a painting demo and book signing by Josiah Golson as well as jazzy hands on activities for the entire family.

And you can enjoy wine and other drinks as well as beignets (to continue the New Orleans vibe) at our cash bar. Plus there will be ice cream treats available for purchase from Clumpies

This performance is generously sponsored by Chattanooga Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. and  is presented in partnership with SoundCorps.

Also on this day from 4-7:30 we will be celebrating the work done by our Education Fellows. These teachers from across the region have developed  models for STEAM using the Hunter’s galleries. All museum visitors are invited to our studio area to explore displays and see demonstrations of the work created by these innovative teachers and their students

From 4-8 p.m. our permanent collection is free to all guests and our temporary exhibitions are just $5 (FREE for members and guests 17 and under) as part of Throwback Thursdays generously funded by Easy Auto and Publix Supermarket Charities.
