The Hunter Museum's Art in Public Places project gives Chattanoogans the chance to be "curator for a day" and help choose four outdoor sculputures for the Museum's permanent collection. The sculptures will be placed in public areas througout downtown. The Art in Public Places project is made possible by a generous grant from the Benwood Foundation.
In January, Chattanoogans had the chance to cast their votes and choose an outdoor sculpture to be placed at the Chattanooga Zoo. The winner for the Zoo site was "The Troupe," a series of life-size chimpanzee sculptures by artist Bart Walter. (Click here to see images of "The Troupe" and learn more about the artist.) Friday, March 27, marks the end of voting for two sculptures that will be placed in Renaissance Park.
Take a moment to learn more about the Renaissance Park site, learn more about the artists and the proposed sculptures and then cast you vote for your two favorite sculptures. Click here to learn more about the project and cast your votes.
